Nouns

A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. Examples: cat, park, happiness.

Activity: List three nouns you can see around you.

Verbs

A verb is a word that expresses action or a state of being. Examples: run, is, jump.

Activity: Write five verbs that describe what you love to do.

Adjectives

An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Examples: blue, tall, interesting.

Activity: Find an object and describe it using three adjectives.

Adverbs

Prepositions

Conjunctions

A conjunction is a word that connects words, phrases, or clauses. Examples: and, but, or.

Activity: Join two simple sentences using a conjunction.

Interjections

An interjection is a word that expresses emotion. Examples: wow, ouch, hooray.

Activity: What do you say when you are excited? Write it down!
